School work is just so crazy.. the nm project deadline is coming and i have just churned out a essay that is full of junk. argh.. it's so hard getting information to support my points. to think i spent my whole morning in national library furiously flipping thru piles of books. It's just the serenity of the nat library reference section that makes me feel much better. Can't imagine if there were kids running around...

luckily, there is the DD07 team to keep me sane amongst all the school work. Now i love tuesdays. despite it being my xiongest day, the meeting at the end of the day sort of kept me going for the whole day. Dunno why i like also, perhaps it is all the fun and crap that we share during the meeting, and all the planning for the trip that we are all looking forward to. and the cupcakes sales on tue sort of lifted up my mood after my terrible EL test. perhaps it is because when we do something we like, we enjoy it. this dd07 is so different from my last YEP. everything from the planning stage to the actual trip itself is all done by the whole team. all the fund raising, all the hard work we put in is never a moment of dullness. we are alreadly very close b4 we even set off. days in vietnam should be really fun! it's such experience that i will miss when i look back at my nus days next time.

and btw, the cupcakes sales were really good. we can all become part time sales person liao.... Thanks to all who supported us! I haven bought one (a whole cupcake) and ate yet!!!!!! (all i had were just nibbles..)

I had a bunch of Canadian dollars I needed to exchange, so I went to the currency exchange window at the local bank. Just one lady in front of me. . .an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars and she was a little irritated . . .

She asked the teller, "Why it change?? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I get hunat eighty?? Why it change?"

The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations".

The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people, too!"

been reaching home after 10pm for the past 2 day... no wonder my mum was asking what the hell i am doing in sch. "不懂你读什么书，整天读到三更半夜才回来" yup. she's grumbling again...

today cookie sale was great. thanks a lot to those who buy stuff from me. I promise i will return this favour someday ok? It's really great to have wonderful friends like you all. well, tmr to fri we are having flea market, so do support ok?

speaking of the flea market, we really had a lot a lot of things to sell. after the meeting just now, we are all in the chatterbox, packing all the stuff in the room. Finally there is space inside the rm to store more things. seriously, one wld be amazed by the amt of stuff (some rubbish) we have inside. and it is so fun to have the whole team working together down there, sorting out stuff n preparing for tmr. i hope the next 3 days sale wld be good. we need more ppl to come down!!

and talking abt selling cookies, me n rj were like walking around school with a signboard n basket selling cookies, asking ppl to buy... i know some ppl will not do such stuff, but i actually did it (not my first time though). we even went to the prof's office to sell. haha.. things we wld do for money (and it does not go into ur own pocket, but to the libraries in vietnam). I think i cld be doing more crazy stuff that i have never done b4 in my life in my coming days in nus. once you overcome this barrier and do things, you wld want to go for more extreme stuff. haha

and i got to talk abt this. was watching the news today and saw the new SIA A380 first class suites. first impression was WTF! it is luxury to a all new level. Thought that the emirates suites were like the best around, but the SQ one was like another level above emirates. With a 'room' to yourself and having a wide flat bed, seriously it doesn't look like it was on an aircraft. and there are also suites that can convert into a double bed. when the doors are closed, who knows what may be going on .. joining the mile high club huh... let's see who is the first couple to be charged for indecent acts in public...




when will i ever have $$ to fly such suites? now even companies dun fly their management in first class or some not even in business, unless u are the CEO. someday when i make my first million, i may like spend 10k to try it out??
and oh ya, why doesn't economy class see a great improvement? it's just a bigger tv screen, which is not much use if it is stuck inches away from your face. well, i can only afford economy....

and i realise something. the ads for SQ are all filled with the singapore girl image, with their plastic smile n fake accent (not my opinion, some ppl claim that..)... really shows how successful the marketing is. and who the one who said the singapore girl should go as it is sexist and demeaning to female.... just a thought. how come there is no singapore boy? i mean there are stewards flying in the skies....

ok. that is what happens why creative juices flow. i write lots of crap. and you ppl are made to read what i write. we were talking abt sharing stuff online during our cnm tutorial today. and yah, i haven got time to do redesign my blog. i receive comments that i should remove the music and i should add a tagboard. ok, shall do so when i am more free...

and i'm surprised quite a lot of ppl actually read my blog.......

I just completed my portion of my geog project.. A rather horrible essay i have written i think. Some of the points are just so forced. shall see what we can do abt it tmr. and it is so sad to have to spend a public holiday in school rushing a project. sad life. but on the good side, after monday, one more project will be killed and down.

an update so far... basically, really busy with danang stuff. sun was the karang guni collection which we earned much more than the last one. more ppl came down and that was a good thing. this time round, it was more tiring as the blocks do not have lift on all levels. thanks to guosen who came down to help me. i owe him a favour. haha..

then tue was the mrs field cookies sale. thanks to all those who bought from me. not only you have satisfied ur hunger pang, but you have also contributed to the building of portable libraries in danang! we were surprised that the cookies were all sold out by lunch time. really great response. it was fun selling stuff to others.. perhaps i shld be a part time promoter? haha. and yah. next wk, i gonna ask ppl buy more stuff frm me.

been lagging behind in school work... now i am like getting bored n restless halfway through lectures, never finish my readings, doing tutorials at the last min.. haha... nvm. almost everyone is like tat.. what happened to the mugger me?

talking abt sch work, the GIS assignment that we had this wk is a pain in the ass. Imagine mapping out all the roads in NUS and the buildings in sci n med fac. wah piang. i think we all stared at the PC for 3 hours or more than that. and that's not all. something happened to our file and we almost thought we lost some data and we had to redo it. imagine if 3 hrs worth of work is gone just like dat?

ok. above are all nonsense again. i am just blogging cause i am bored. my inspiration for writing have all gone into my geog project so what is above are all crap.

one down. 2 more to go!!! yeah. finally submitted my EL project. one day before the deadline.. haha... i feel less burden now... now, just gotta pia this weekend for the geog project.

and tmr, i finally have no school!! no need to wake up early.. i am gonna follow my plan. to sleep till i am fully awake. i shall turn off my phone so that nobody cld be calling me. yeah... what i have been looking forward to for like the past mth?? yeah... past mth.. every non sch day have to go back to sch. every wkend have to wake up early...

shall blog more tmr... abt desdanang, abt my projects n assignment.. abt what's going on with me...

i am having this insecure feeling the whole week. perhaps it is the effect of the looming project deadlines... I just can't put things aside. So my plan is to get it over and done with, but somehow i am always stuck here n there... haiz.. and the geog project deadline error made me happy for nothing...

i also have been uttering nonsense to people these days.. typical of me when i am under some form of pressure (the other being eating, but i told myself i can't eat n eat n grow fat). Too many things bugging me.. Well, i shall blame no one for i took on these things willingly. actually, i derive fun from doing these other matters, and i actually dread doing academic stuff..

a episode of Grey's Anatomy at the end of the week keeps me sane... I proclaim myself a big big grey's fan! And i get to know a few Grey's fan as well.. first is jade, then esther. haha... gonna have ppl to talk to about grey.

the mid sem break just passed like this. In a wink of an eye, it is gone. I guess this is the first holiday in my entire sch life that doesn't feel like a holiday. having to wake up eariler than normal. going back to sch almost everyday. NUS is literally my second home now...

so today was the karang guni collection for desdanang. the no. of ppl who came was rather disappointing. i am sure some do have reasons so i shall not judge anyone. the collection went on rather well, despite the small manpower strength. everyone was still optimistic. Some families gave really lots of newspapers and old clothes. guess they did read the flyer we gave out. i'm glad that our efforts in distributating flyers door by door did not go to waste. the 'xiong' part was for those flats without lifts on every floor, where we had to carry down stacks and stacks of newspapers to the common lift level. really really 'pei fu' sumaiya, who came down to help us despite her fasting period. i was alreadly damm thirsty after 1 block and she cld actually not drink for whole day.. Camaraderie was really high at some points, esp at blk 315. we did quickly comb the whole block and had lots of stuff. seriously, if we had more manpower, we cld have done more blocks and perhaps get better results. dunno how much our collection will generate, but at this point, we got to raise our funds bit by bit. sorting things out back in nus was another xiong affair, but we did have lots of fun looking at what ppl gave us. haha.. next weekend is another of our collection (if all things go smoothly) and i seriously hope more ppl could come down to help us. all the fund raising events are coming up and i am all excited, esp the trip itself! and oh ya, we forgot to take photo today!!! must take a grp photo next wk!

okie... time to sleep... prepare for another week of hectic in school and for tuition!

haha... finally caught prison break season 3 epi 1! After watching he first epi, i felt it was rather duh... He got to break out again from prison again... shall see what happen...

and i can't wait for all the rest of the shows to come back!

Finally mid sem break is here... Can finally take a break without feeling guilty and be glad to know that there is one week ahead to catch up.

Been a shag week. Fri was geog soc MAF celebration. Turnout was rather gd, though i thought could be better. As usual, we are unable to get much ppl from out of the geog soc MC. food was a lot and great! the soon kueh is nice! and dr pow bought us donuts! In the end, we got lots of food stocked up in geog rm, and that was after giving away lots of food. I feel that the lantern walk could have been better, as it was like planned only at the last minute. still, it was a great feeling knowing that we pulled off this event. Really, the bond in geog soc is really strong now and i really enjoy what i am doing despite all the heavy schedule, i am always willing to put some time aside for the society. Perhaps, it's what some has said, a group of people who has passion for geography put together.

so sat was the geog field trip to singapore river... imagine waking up before the sun comes out (argh! i haven had that in quite some time). reaching singapore river feeling damm tired, with my eyeslids dropping. lucky for prof chang's interesting narration and observations, i was kept awake. Indeed, the trip has gave me some new insights into that area... didn't take any pics, cause i was too busy trying to jot down notes and keeping myself awake. only took one with the 3 geog soc members at pitstop cafe. shall go get it from jon. was so tired at the end of they day that i drop dead once i reached home till this morning. yeah... finally my needed 12 hrs of sleep.

and was practically rushing my projects this afternoon. Finally i cld spend some time thinking and conceptualizing about the projects. blasted the Hairspray soundtrack... keeps me energetic for the whole afternoon. grooving to the dance tunes and typing on my lappie... really feel like getting up and dance... haha.. I love musical movies!
