My fears of a wisdom tooth extraction has come true.. Just got checked by the dentist and he said that the pain is caused by my wisdom tooth... got to remove it... I guess I shall be doing the op only after CNY. wun wanna miss all the good food. Heard of horror stories from friends on the recovery stage, on how it hurts so that that it could swell and one hardly feel like eating solid food. well, maybe i take it as a change to lose weight. Also, any one knows if doing extraction at govt hositpal is cheaper?? the price my dentist quote me is rather ex..

I actually completed my back log of readings for the past 2 weeks today. must be due to the fact that there is nothing to watch on tv or on my comp. all my fav shows like grey's anatomy, ugly betty, desperate housewives are all on a haitus due to the WGA strike. argh!! i need those shows to keep myself sane.. last wkend, i was watching season 3 epsiodes.. haha...

my tooth is aching for the past few days... irritating that i have to wait till wed to see the dentist.. the pain is slowing going away, maybe by wed, it wld be all gone. well, gonna go get them checked anyway.. haven done any dental check for the past 2 yrs.. like what dentist says, must do dental check at least once every yr (if can do twice per yr, it wld be much better)

on the way to sch today, was listening to 933 罐头剧场 and they were playing 长江7号 广播版. now i am hooked onto the story.. gonna catch it again on my way to sch tmr.. tried to search for podcast online but cannot find. :(

on a sidenote, there are announcements on improvement to our public transport network, which includes building 2 more new mrt lines. a look at the stations in the city area and you can go crazy trying to figure out how to get from this line to the next line. so we shall see more construction and hopefully a much better system. i was hoping they dont' remove bus routes that they deemed to be serving the same route at mrt. i am sure there are some who prefer direct bus rides (abit longer) to their work/study place. wondering if in future when all the lines are complete, will i be satisfied with taking public transport instead of owning a car?

It is now 4.30am and i am freaking awake.. Well, i was glad that the whole night (after is slept from 6pm to 12am) was spent well in catching up with my readings. academic writings are such a bore.. yawnzZZ

yest was the release of the o levels results and both my students last yr sent me a sms about their results. I am happy for them as they did well and can get into the course they wanted. seeing them do well made me feel good too. it is like my effort has not gone to waste. though it is a paid job, i still feel responsible for their learning and seeing that they did benefit from my sessions, at least i do not feel so bad about charging them high fees. talking about tuition, i need students this yr...

gotta go catch a short nap before going to school...

i am so happy that i get to complete this season of amazing race without any spoliers! imagine how pissed i was last season when i knew eric n danielle won before the final episode is screened on tv .. have to be super careful when surfing the net and sometimes, even newspapers.

After a super horrible n frustrating day yest, the hiking trip today made up for the bad day yest.. Yest was just the day where everything that could go wrong went wrong... haiz... super suay...

I am super bo-liao now so i am doing this super long ultra stupid entry...

so early morning, me and see set off for the HSBC tree top walk and we planned to trek all the way over to bukit timah! sounds so exciting right? We started off from venus road carpark and this portion of the trekking route is a very easy route. Soon, we started walking into the forest and we reached the treetop in a short amount of time. i think we took less than 1 hour. My first time as the HSBC walk, so initially i expected it to be quite grand or something. Was actually rather disappointed at the walk. It isn't that close to vegetation and the stretch is actually very short. One could just spend like less than 5 minutes on the bridge. It is really the trek to the bridge that is much more fun..

We wanted to wait for the 2 dogs behind us to appear from the forest, so while waiting, i took a picture of the monkeys.. too bad the dogs didn't appear again... maybe they got lost with their owners??

I feel so like xiaxue when doing the above entry. I should have spent the amount of time doing this on other stuff, like studying. such out of the norm trip should be done once in a while to keep myself sane..

and oh. i must mention this. me and tee saw 陈泉隆老师 at a coffeeshop in clementi and he still remembers our name! it has been like 7 years since he last taught me and he still remembers who i am and which class i am in! wow! super impressed! congrats to him as he just became a father! 看见陈老师，我似乎有一种说不出的亲切感. 我们也聊起了一些立化的近况。确实蛮怀念以前中一中二的日子。

school has finally started. Actually looking forward to this sem. erm.. not the studying part but all the activities that i gonna be involved in. I guess it all boils down to proper time management. Hoping I will do much better this sem.

the rush in school has definitely started. ppl are rushing to and fro for lessons. the comp lab is filled with ppl printing notes. central library is finally crowded again after one month of peace. gonna be camping there tmr morning to print stuff. nd to read up a lot on real estate finance. was totally lost during lect today.

and we have moved to the new geog soc room. apparently, our neighbours have also started moving in and all of us were complaining about the state of our rooms. the sch admin could at least renovate the place b4 giving it to us. dunno if xu mei zhen will eventually solve these problems. room is packed and each of us have our own corner of rubbish. yup, now the room is much cosier but the old rm is stil the best....

dun really like the school rush and all.. missing those days in danang. it is always a joy to be looking at the photos frm the trip, or frm fellow danang ppl facebook albums...

i miss the village & the house we stayed in .....

and i realise i have not blogged about the trip...... opps.. been too lazy....

The news of a death of someone i know personally always affects me. I learnt about my sec 1 geog teacher mrs nair's death frm kc. I checked the obituaries, which i usually would not even bother to look through, and yup, it is real. Though she wasn't exactly a teacher that i really liked or have changed my life, she still taught me before. and it was kind of a shock as i didn't think she would leave us so soon.

I should perhaps look through the obituaries wheneveri read the papers. It could just be anyone that i know and do not keep in contact who has passed away and it would be really sad if i didn't know about it. I guess that is the purpose of the obituaries section.

yeah! i got my RE1803. was quite worried that i would be outbidded and my alreadly planned timetable will be totally screwed. 752 pts. gosh! my most expensive module. previous years was only 1 pt!!

7 bidders for 5 places... i must be crazy...

geog soc room have moved... apparently, many other fass societies are being 'invited' to move to the new room. The small and cosy room that i am so used to has now become a big and cold room. guess we all need some time to get used to the new place.

yest was the move itself. the most xiong part being the monster wooden shelf. we went up and down at least 4 flights of stairs. it was such a good exercise. not forgetting the many other small boxes.. it was also a good chance for the geog soc ppl to get together and do something. we haven done that in quite a while.

i am sure geog soc is gonna play a major role in my uni life.

argh.. i am alreadly spending so much time in sch before school even start...

being in school during the holidays just feels so different from being in sch during term time.

today was a fun day hanging out with the geog soc ppl. managed to see some ch 8 drama production in school. saw jeanette aw and christopher lee. jeanette aw as a freshie and chris lee as an OGL during some AY2007/2008 Department of Architecture Freshmen Orientation Camp. where got ppl dress so nice for FOC one?? we were then sitting at the central forum watching their every movement, like some sicko stalkers....

it's really interesting to see how long it takes to shoot just one scene...

one week has passed since we welcomed the new year. which just means one more wk till school starts.. well, got to start work again... was actually delaying lots of stuff like planning for FIC08, but today, i forced myself to start work.

the past few days were spent with frens... meeting up with ps, lc n ah tee... jioing geog soc ppl for Kbox, and going K again with danang ppl, meeting up with yz (finally). spent loads of money, but i truly enjoyed the company. it is so fun sharing our experiences with each other and hear about gossips... well, i guess it is only during holidays that we can just meet up like this and not worry about sch work or anything...

and i am so screwed.. haven recovered from post trip fatigue...
