it was a good week. surprisingly, our dear sgt joseph has changed. on mon day, he gave us stand by bed. but he didn't check. called us to the lobby for a talk. sort of like a confrontation session. some of us guys spoke out. on the things tat he did that we did not like. he gave his own reasons. some i feel were indeed true. some i don't agree with. since then, he has changed. still strict, but not tat strict. had our RO at 7pm for the first time in the entire 3 week. and it was from him. i can feel that he somehow is surpressing his anger, cause we are still not very disciplined and there are points where he had to raise his voice. just hoping he will not unleash the fire, or it wld be hell for us.

finally after 3 weeks, i am getting very interested in the things tat i learn. i began more eager to learn abt more things. i want to know more. finally, we can implement many sceneiros into the PAM and tat had given me a much clearer view on what to do when encountering a certain incident. spinal management is the hardest of all. when suspected spinal injury, one has to do a lot of things and when turning the casualty to one side to place him on the spinal board, it really does require skills. the medic will have to keep his head and neck straight while the body is being turned to the side and that is one where i really need practice. somehow, when i turn, the head is still being moved. and being with uncooperative partners doesn't help at all. at one point, i was damm tu lan with my partners. one was complaining like shit and the other just thinks he knows everything. let see how he screw up his test.

then there was a 2nd IV session. as usual, cannot find the vein on my buddy, then change partner. sgt joseph got me a girl. wah lau. if on a girl, cannot anyhow topo topo, later she cry how. then poor miss tan became my casualty. can see the vein very clearly. after i put on my gloves and then clean tat area with the alcohol swab, somehow cannot see the vein liao. so feel for vein again, clean again, then poke the needle in. she didn't scream or what. lucky. then no backflow of blood. turn needle to the side a bit, finally found it. did the rest of the things as usual. then she told me not as pain as her first time. phew. then the next day she complain to me she got blueblack........ so IV is damm stressed leh!!!!!!!

another week

i'm back again. ok. this week isn't tat fucked up as last week, apart from the late night stand by bed. alright, i shoulnd't complaint, like what yz said. his life seemed more fucked up than mine. i no need to go chiong sua, got aircon room for lecture, a life so much better than him.

at least this week was interesting. learned much more stuff than last week. first was spinal injury. if a casualty kena spinal injury, damm leh ceh loh. have to do a lot of stuff before the casualty could be evacuated.

then there was also our first IV session. after viewing a demo, all of us were like damm nervous liao. we have to first learn how to prime our hartmann solution, which is the drip. must make sure there is no air bubble in it. so we were there tapping tapping the pack to make all the bubble go to the top. after doing it once, then i realise there is another bubble stuck at the bottom. damm! have to do it again. then come the injection part. first, it was chinni doing it on me. my arm is big size, so i scared he cannot find my vein. but after tying the tourniquet around my arm, my vein pop out and become damm obvious, so it was a one shot for him. then come disater for both of us. it was now my turn to set drip on him. but freaking hell his vein cannot be seen. his hands are fat and somemore he is black. (somehow reminded me of a joke. some guys were calling him dark chocolate and then someone mentioned he cannot be called calbury chocolate cause it is too high class). ok, back to the IV. so i only can feel for his vein. i seriously dunno where it is. even the sgt cannot feel the vein. so i poke in the needle, topo around, dig about, cannot find. reshot. on the other arm. still cannot find. even when the sgt was guiding my hand and searching around for the vein, still cannnot find. i was like WTF!!!!!! 3 tries alreadly still nothing. then change person. farhan came and i have to set on him. his vein was somehow obvious, and i hit the vein, but somehow the catheter won't go in, so have to take out the needle, and the catheter was bent. i must have pushed the needle down too hard. then another guy came, vein super bloody obvious, got it finally. and throughout the whole process, my hand was trembling, not doing the injection part but during the taping up and bandaging part. in the end, due to me kneeling down for damm bloody long (5 shots), end up i couldn't stand up properly. my legs just turned jelly. lucky didn't fall and spill the hartmann solution all over me. just when i tot all was over, i had to be the casualty for another guy shawn. lucky also one shot kena vein. i am so glad that i am blessed with a fat arm but a vein that is very obvious. i shld prepare myself mentally tat i am going to be kena shot at least 2 times for future IV sessions.

then on fri came our CPR lesson. finally i have learnt CPR properly and have the certification. what was interesting was the infant CPR, which is totally different from adult one and somehow it made me damm confused. i had a slight cock up during the test but luckily it was not a fatal mistake and i did managed to pass all 3 with one try. meanwhile my partner JC got lots of cock up and somehow made me a bit nervous also. during the 2 man CPR, i actually did something stupid by counting "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and switch and 6..." i just blurted out 6 unknowingly. then also got "1 and 2 n 3 n 4 n 5 n 1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n 5 n 1 n 2 n 3 n n 4 n 15". the correct one shld be tat the 2nd 5 is replaced by 10. some beat thing. like during 综艺大哥大 , when 玛格利特 said " 一到十要下, 十一到十五不要下". still remember tat episode, damm funny. but one whole day in the aircon room made me feel so damm freaking cold.

watched inital D also with yz. it was such a cool movie, all the drifting. made me want to own my own car so much. i gonna work towards my goal. i wanna get my license. i want to get my own car!! think jay had an easy time with his role. he was just being hmself in the movie, act cool, then smile smile a bit, got very few lines for him also. and the song 一路向北 is so damm nice!!

fuck.

My mood is turning from bad to worse now. Lots of fucked up thing happened today. Plus the fact that i have to go for fire piquet duty tmr at 7 am made it much much worse.

one week have passed by for the training. wat fuck. damm regimental. even tekong wasn't this strict. stand by every morning. fuck. then i am bunk ic (what gd luck i have). kena fucked more. then, my nemesis from tekong is now my buddy. what else can be more fucked up! i try to accept him as my buddy, but tat blur fuck always sleep during lessson and his practical are quite fucked up. i am gonna suffer for my IV. then everyday lesson end fucking late, if not will have some pep talk session, end up sleeping fucking late. then wake up fucking early to do the fucking area cleaning and have fucking standby, then the lessons all day. lectures are the worst. have to force myself to stay awake. at least practical are not tat bad. i find the lec are all crap. only the prac are useful. then have to report to camp at 7am tmr for some bloody dumb shit fire piquet duty. basically just sit in the wos room and if there is any fire, have to go fight the fire and shout 'fire fire'. bloody stupid. why? just because the fucking building doesn't have a fucking sprikler system but got fire alarm system. damm fucked up rite? then why me on a sun?? just because they go by the bed and i am suay suay the first bed to kean sun. fucked up!

enough of all the fuck. i just feel so fucked up now.

this week

back from camp. not actually. as we were posted to SMM (sch of military medicine) one week eariler before the course starts, we then become the temp support staff, and get to book out everyday. 8 to 5!! but actually it means 7.30 to 5.30. dunno why there is a half hr added to the book in and out time. nee soon camp is actually a rather nice environment. it is close to residential area, unlike tekong, where everywhere is trees and forest. the building that we are going to stay in has 10 storey, complete with 2 lifts. the bunk are quite small, but decent to fit 8 person in it. the toilet is huge, but looks damm dirty. however, still useable. no complaints abt the environment. then the food, so far for this week, food is definitely much better than tekong. fruits can OTOT (own time own target). no long queue for food (i guess it is not so when training starts). Hope this trend goes on. we actually did nothing much in camp. book in in the morning, so some shit work, then slack slack slack. i was like reading my book until my eyes almost pop out. by the way, battle royale is really interesting. shall only do my analysis when i finish the book. i am fucking bored in camp. can't wait for training to start. at least i have something to do.

talking abt training, have to stay in from next week onwards. sian! then we learnt that we have to perform 10 success IV (intravenous) injection. think my arms gonna be so bruised. we had our hep B screening and we went to the medical center to draw blood. this medic found my vein, poke the needle in and was turning the needle about to find my blood. still no blood came out. then another medic told him "hey, put the syringe and see". he did so and then there is blood. i was like duh!!! thought i gonna kena another jab. if a trained medic got tat type of problem, i can't imagine what will happen during our training. and if it is those super big guys whose vein cannot be seen, then it is gd luck to them..... met yee chwan at town and he told me be prepared to have a mrt track on my arm........

and i did went back to nj for their pa camp. only 5 of us went back. the no. of ppl in the camp is also very few. but glad to note that things are still going alright for them. walked around the school also. the canteen was undergoing some major renovation. they should do so long time ago. the canteen is so small and when it rains, all the rain water will come splashing into the canteen. still remember kena attack by rain once. in the end, we stayed too late and had to climb out of the gate. it is rather an irony that it was my first time climbing the gate (i am a good boy) and that i have alreadly graduated. rather fun to do so.

also met up with teewei, kunying, leeching n peishan. haven had an outing where all 5 of us were present for some time. went to the new marina sq and it was totally different from the past. it somehow looks like the esplanade. we talked a lot over lunch and we concluded tat talking is our fav past time. and teewei got a good vocation. some vehical technican. stay out vocation. shiok!!! what gd luck he has. whereas dear kunying doesn't have such luck. it seems to be quite bad for him. at first i wasn't tat keen abt getting medic, but after seeing the other shitty vocation others have gotten, i count myself very lucky alreadly.

ok. nothing much to talk abt liao. got to start my training tmr.

tekong chalet

I am sure everyone held of the infamous 'Tekong Chalet'. Look at the building from the outside. it is really chalet like. everyting is so new. During my 6 months stay there, i didn't feel like it was a chalet, till yesterday, i realise the true meaning of it.

Had to go back for re hand grenade. wanted to go because i want to have the experience of throwing a live grenade. one would not have considered going through army if he doesn't experience this. so went back on fri night. only 8 ppl turned up for the re HG and re BIC. so we had the option of staying in the annex room. of course we agreed to it immediately!!!! for non NS ppl, the annex room is sort of a recreational room for recruits. inside got air con, plus tv, plus pool table. who woundn't want to stay in the room. so we spent the night there, not sleeping but rather enjoying ourselves. initially we thought that with tv, can watch channel 5,8 and channel U. but then, the stupid tv only have indonesian channel. tried setting tv but still cannot find local channel. just when we thought there was to be no tv for us, sgt michael brought in 2 vcd for us. so we had a mini movie marathon. most ppl 'peng' after the first movie, American Pie 2, only me and thomas stayed on to watch Hitch. AP 2 was so freaking funny. it was still enjoyable despite watching it a second round. this time round it was clear as it was the original copy. Hitch was enjoyable too. too bad the quality isn't good as it is a pirated version. those that is shot in the cinema. can even see one guy walking off towards the end of the show. in the end slept for only 2 hrs plus. Just like in chalet, where late nights are common. we were supposed to have 7 hrs of sleep in fact, but who cares.

so the next morning, slack a bit before going to the HG ground. first threw the SPG 93, which is the practive grenade. then moved on to throw the actual one. when the grenade exploded, can really feel the vibration when i am in the throwing bay. lucky my grenade went out quite well. didn't know where it landed though, cause the sir pulled me down immediately right after the grenade left my hand. for safety of course.

then went back to coy line. only to find out tat we missed the 1pm fastcraft and the next fastcraft is at 5.30 pm!!! freaking hell!! have to stay there for another 4 hrs plus. but turned out the 4 hrs plus wasn't tat bad. cause we played monopoly!!!! during the game, we kept commenting tat this is really like chalet!!! we eventually booked out happily at 5.30. saying bye bye to the island. i do not wish to go back there again. which also means don't post me to tekong medical center after my course.

one conclusion. as long as one is not a recruit, tekong is really considered a chalet for one.

I pray pray pray no need to stay in when posted out. heard stories abt the training. have to poke each other hands with the needles used for drips. heard those are rather thick. if poke other ppl only, nvm, but i also need to be kena poked by someone else. then somemore my hands are prone to shivering esp when i am 'gan jiong'. the poor guy who i am going to poke the needle into is going to suffer..... after training, hope can shake leg in medical center lah. need to lug all my things to the new camp on mon. haizzz. nothing to say. just pray for the best. i shouldn't be complaining. some others have gotten more shitty jobs. and also J.C. and chinni got the same posting as me. praying not to be in same bunk as chinni, if not have to endure his super loud snoring again!!!

back to yesterday. went back for the re 24 route march. only 6 guys from platoon 3 went. a lot just went back and show MC. should have done the same stunt. but dun really wish to spend money to get MC. going broke liao. just bought a new bag plus a few clothes during the great singapore sale. only chinese was me and stephen lah. this is the first time i talked so much to stephen. when talking to him, i just have to take the initiative to go talk to him then he will talk also lah. everyone was thinking to falling out so tat we can end early and book out on the same day. then sir (my ex pc) was like telling us we are not allowed to book out the same night. since i have walked so many many bloody round around the stadium, might as well complete the whole damm thing. so in the end, only 5 person were left standing and completed it. out of 26 guys who stayed over. we walked on because we knew we cannot book out, so might as well walk loh. then when back at company line, sir did another 'stunt'. he let those who complete the walk to book out immediately while the rest have to stay another night. can see that the others were rather pissed with us and with him. some were having the idea tat if we fall out early, all of us can book out together on the same night. but the fact is tat we were not allowed to and i think sir talked to oc anc oc allowed eventually allowed the 5 of us to book out tat night. a lot of ppl were pissed with sir too. tat why we were like chop chop pack our stuff and go off liao. seeing the others made me feel uncomfortable. but whatever, get to book out can liao. so the 5 of us walked or rather limped to TFT for our ferry. kena 3 big blister on my leg. lucky not as jia lat as last time 16 km one. and walking the re 24 is so fucking slack lah. field pack all newspaper. the only weight is the dummy rifle. it is just the blister on the leg tat is making the walk slightly unbearable. and also at night after dinner, the new spec posted to eagle coy came to walk with us. when left with the final 5, we were practically walking quite a distance apart. i was lagging a bit due to my blister. luckily got the new sgt walking with me and talking cock to him, then i wasn't tat sian anymore. i think i am actually crazy, actually go and walk round and round the stadium. should have done the same 'stunt' as others loh. whatever, it is over and i get my book out. yay!

tonight have to book in again. for grenade. hope tat it is also fast fast chop chop finish up then book out. so i was thinking, if more person get att c, then much better. i am willing to go for grenade cause it is the only time where i will get to throw it. what just sucks is tat i have to go sleep there for one more night. in fact, i have to stay in for 9 more weeks. argh!!!! gonna miss all the exciting show on tv. saw a bit of lost yest on the ferry. looks quite nice, but i was thinking, when a plane crash, there surely will be a rescue team to search for them wat. dunno, maybe it was explained in the show and i didn't get to see it. and also jue dui superstar. missed both episode this week. i want to see tat ru hua lookalike. me and another platoon 4 guy were making fun of her yest. imitating how ru hua speak. and also jiu3 wu3 zhi4 zun1. tat show looks interesting. gonna see how da xia climb the corporate ladder. and no more desperate housewives!!! no more eva longoria!!!

pop loh!!!!!

Finally POP loh!!!! after 6 bloody months, finally i no need to go back to tekong! hope i am not posted to tat place again.

these few days have been damm busy. before pop, have all the rehearsal to attend. stand in the sun and march for one whole day. we earned ourselves a nights off, only to realise it adds to the hassle. then comes the parade. people said it was a very well done one. i think it was so so only. definitely not our best performance. the drill comp segment had a bit of cock up, but we made it up with our solid bang! Finally, everything is over! over in such a breeze. looking back, it seems like i am still rehearsing for the pop parade. Miss my days in bmt?? definitely not. well, part of it i do miss.

i can say 6 months there is worth it. i lost in total 20 kg!!! down by waist size by 6 inches. if without army, i think i wld still be a fat ass. not tat i am now slim, yes i am still fat, but not AS fat. now i am thinking, how the hell am i going to keep it this way?? while outside, i am really tempted by all the food outside, but i now self control now. i kept myself from walking into mcdonald today. but i did have a feast last thu. it was for celebration, plus a good get together with kenny. hard to realise that he hasn't been with us for almost 2 months. without him, there is no one for me to talk to, no one for me to make fun of. haha. definitely miss him. his leg cannot heal in a cast and the doc actually told him to leave it alone and let it heal by itself. tat is gonna take ages and he is going to limp around for quite some time. back to food. the sakura buffet was quite worth it. quite a lot of variety, but taste wise, it is only so so. but what to expect when it is only 20 plus dollar. and no more such buffet for me!!!

one more week and i'll be through. one more week to POP!

finally, the day is coming. going to leave that out of nowhere place. actually tekong is not bad. but it is just too freaking far from my house. i can't possibly travel by cab everyday and the hassle of taking the mrt puts me off. ok, i shall pray that i won't be posted back there. Give me a 9 to 5!

another short week, for me only. booked in only on tue due to my bloody feet. can still hardly walk then. so, i went to report sick on wed and the medical centre was freaking crowded. crowded till the extend that i have to sit on the floor. then the long wait to see the doc began. wait wait wait. told to go for lunch first, then come back wait wait wait. see the doc. gave me excuse footwear 7 days, then wait again. status came soon after. then wait wait wait until near to 5pm then i got my medicine. spent almost the whole day at the centre. then it was the recruit night. what a boring event. no atmosphere. no fun. just eating something that is not worth the $8 i paid. then watch some performance. tat's it. end of it.

excuse boots means walking around 'bua long long'. no need to wear even shoes. means never so SIT test (haha, i am so glad tat i didn't go. ok. i admit i chao keng one. if there is no SIT test, i still can endure the little pain on my feet, but it is becase of this bloody stupid thing, then it became 'very painful'.) only 8 out of 24 ppl from my platoon went. haha. no one wants to be commander. we can't make it anyway. so it means doing sai gang. then slack slack slack until fri. got an off pass and got out of tat place on fri evening. why? because of the FASS open day. didn't intend to go actually, but then heard from gabriel tat he getting off pass because of tat, plus sat is a super late book out, why not ?

so i went down on sat. found out more abt the geog course. more or less i am decided in majoring in that. found out abt the modular credit thing. have to take modules from other dept and faculty. i am very blur abt tat. plus the exchange program. i want to go on one of such program. i want to experience how it is like studying overseas. tat would mean coughing out money myself. sianz. no money how??

met up with friends during this weekend too. the cheena gang from s07. apparently peiling n kaining got teaching scholarship. kim may be going for tat too. imagine all the smart ppl i am around with during jc and yet i am still so dumb. ok forget tat. it was great meeting up with them, talking abt what they are doing and so on. went to watch the amityville horror with yingxuan. the movie sucks! didn't understand the plot at all. feel like i have wasted 9.50 on tat. watched star wars 3 with yz on sunday also. perhaps i am not a great star war fan. i don't get some parts of the story. argh.. i am too lazy to write it out here. forget it. i should go rewatch 1 and 2 and perhaps i shall get the whole thing clear. just like the matrix.

2 more weeks to go.....

haven blogged for a long time. it is mon night and i am not in camp. yes, on att c for 2 days. why? all because of the bloody blister that i kena during the 16km route march. the blister kena infected and the wound is now bloody red. have been hoping around the house for 2 whole damm day. don't think it gonna recover so soon.

16 km route march was sort of a killer. i haven walked until the stage i am going to peng before. it is ultimate shag! the march started at about 4pm in the evening. the first 8km march was in the day so the fun made me shagged. the night march was much more enjoyable, but the blister was making is so painful to walk. i kena the blister at the 6-8 km. then the blister burst during the 10-12 km part. it was fucking painful!!!! i can feel myself trembling from the pain after the march. i feel like a cripple at the end of the day. had to ask JC to help me carry my bag up, ask him to help me put bedsheet. THanks a lot to him! whithout him, i think i have alreadly been dead! whatever, i survived 16km!!!!!

other events in the 2 week haitus. finished the 2nd field camp which is the group section training (GST). basically the same as the first camp, fire movement but this time round we got to walk a circuit and then execute the fire movement. my grp was quite fucked up. still we got thru it. then towards the end, have to do arti drill back to the start point. and WTF, we had to start running from a spot quite far away, up a bloody slope!!! then came basic assault course, where we had to crawl in mud, attack figures. tat one was fun, but hell lot dirty. mud all over the body and webbing. then we got BIC the following, which is the battle innoculation course. there are GPMG live rounds firing above your head and you have to crawl through the thing. i initially thought the thing will be damm scary, but when i went thru the course, it was like duh! only a few pathetic rounds firing. not even simulating a real war zone. it was just that the leopard crawl all the way and back crawl when i come to the barb wire zone that is tiring. plus it rained damm heavily the night before, a 'swimming pool' greeted me at the end. downright dirty and even got sand inside the underwear. i dun think i wanna mention about the cleaning up part.

finally finally, bmt is coming to an end. for other ppl, bmt is just a short stint, but for me, it is so fucking loooong!!!! finally going to leave tat place. now looking back, tat place isn't as fucked up as what i used to think. perhaps i have become closer to my bunk mates, to my platoon mates that have made things much more bearable. still, i can't stand the long travelling time to reach there. praying praying hard to get posted to a good place!!!

field camp 1

yeah! finally survived through field camp 1. haha. only 3D2N. it's chicken feat compared to others who stay there for 7 days. at least it was a new experience. not tat i didn't stay outdoor before, but it's my first time staying somewhere without a proper toilet, plus eating crap food!

when we first reached there, we had to build our basha. the campsite was situated in a rubber plantation and the ground was slightly sloping and very uneven. finding a suitable sleeping spot is hard, and then the basha have to be aligned with the others, so me n my buddy had no choice but to place our basha on a ground where it is damm sloping. our building the basha and some tekan session, have to go dig shit hole. section 3 n 4 have to go dig the shit hole and wah lau, freaking hard ground makes it freaking hard to dig. we only have one of the shit hole digger thing, so for the rest of the hole, we were using the ET stick n blade to dig. what was frustrating was that some ppl were just standing down there eye power, while the rest were digging like hell, taking turns to help each other. i couldn't be bother to say anything. after all these, time for the first taste of field ration. it is actually not bad. maybe when i am hungry, i find anything also nice. when i take the first bite, i wanted to vomit, but the more i eat, the better it taste. still find menu 3 the best. got pasta n nonya curry rice. enjoyed tat packed totally! the dessert sucks though. gave them to other ppl.

what we did there is actually quite slack. just have to do some basic fire movement, shoot some blanks, then we are done. actually most of the time was spent toking cock with our sec com. on the last day, we were just sitting down there and toking cock with our pc, and then hear stories from him abt his jcc course in brunei. got take pictures too, but forgot to take during powder bath. and ya, powder bath is so fun! imagine one with only underwear on in the middle of the jungle, making urself look as white as possible, then have to 'ease spring squeeze trigger' and edward (my buddy) actually flashed at sgt koh!!! freaking funny! and lots of funny things happen also, like chinni farting so loudly when he was proning down. even sgt chris got nothing to say. and the best got to be chinni's snoring. he was snoring so freaking loud that i was awaken by his snore a few times at night. his snoring got melody somemore. like wild boar like tat. of course, his snoring attracted the sgt's attention to his tent at night, and of course, my tent, being beside him, also came into the commanders attention. somemore tired to take my rifle on the first nite, but i held on to it and pull it back from him. till now, i still dunno who tat is. the best got to be tat chinni's volt carrier group got stolen by sgt koh ( i think). he can actually strip his rifle and take out the things inside without him knowing. best liao!

the downside, got to be the sandflies bite i gotten all over my hand. sianz. super itchy, then cannot scratch. next week still got another camp, 2D1N. going to get more bites. sianz.....
