I really can't imagine me standing in front a class of 40, trying to capture the kids attention, asking them to listen to me, making them stop talking, stop day-dreaming and when i ask the question,"do you understand?", none will say yes.

yes. I am having lots of trouble dealing with just one kid, let alone 40 kids. Was talking about teaching as a careear with my friends just the last week. seriously, pay is good. with degree only, it is abt 2500 - 2700. an honours degree will bring in more. but, is it really a good job? being bullied by students on a daily basis and unable to scold them and beat them? having to teach + run CCA + admin work and having to stay in school until night time without OT? I used to consider teaching as one of my options in future, but after dealing with this tuition kid of mine, and all the bad things i have heard, i am really seriously considering this option. At times, i see spoilt brats on the streets and i really just feel like going up and give him/her a tight slap, so i think i gonna be bashing up students in future if i really teach. and being their god-father is definitely a NO NO!!

somehow i feel that kids (not all i must clarify)nowadays are getting really spoilt. looking at those kids nowadays, they are brought up in a way totally different from my generation. Parents basically treat them like kings and queens. They can whine in public for something they want and parents just have to give in to them. so they use this trick again and again to get what they want. I have seen parents or maids chasing after the kid, practically begging them to eat. perhaps the culture now is to reason out with the kid, but i think reasoning also needs a bit of canning.
