so the "showdown of the year" came to an end today with the new guards being given a vote of no-confidence. Dubbed as a marathon extraordinary general meeting, it saw close to 3000 women taking part in it.

I was constantly keeping myself updated or entertained with the 'showdown' through twitter. It is really amazing how the evolution of new media and wireless technology allows people to be updated at the very first minute. Watching the feeds on twitter, I can really imagine the atmosphere in the centre, esp when Josie Lau is being booed at by the audience. It really reminds me of some tv drama, when two ends fought over inheritance, power. Perhaps this is something that has not been seen in Singapore, people fighting for what they believe in. Perhaps Singaporeans are not that laid back and accept what comes to them? Well, 3000 people is just a small number and out of those 300o, how many really came to fight for their beliefs? Imagine AWARE is a government organisation, will such a 'showdown' even be possible?

Now that the saga has ended, I was wondering if they are able to manage the 3000 members and how many of the 3000 members will be involved in and contributing to AWARE? and not to mention the $90k price tag for this 'showdown'.

The updates through twitter sort of brought me through the revision for biophy. Lots to things to learn and remember. And i realise that i seem to have taken a liking towards physical geography, especially terrestrial related topics... Maybe I should start doing more phy geog mods? starting with geomorphology in HK?
