It's sucks to be stuck at home babysitting the house.. Currently, there are renovation work going on in my hse and i happen to be the unfortunate stuck at home, watching the door, and 'enjoying' all the drilling, banging, whatever...

ok... shall blog a bit on my hk trip.. though it didn't turn out to be very enjoyable, i was still able to take a look into the hustle n bustle of hk life.. though largely similar to singapore, there are still some differences here and there.

Below are some glimpse into hong kong..

The tian tan buddha is the largest bronze buddha structure in the world. located in lantau island, the island provided a peaceful n serene background to the statue n temple. Too bad the ngong pign 360 cable car went down a few days b4 i went, so we had to endure the 1 hr roller coster bus ride to the site. the gd thing, there wasn't packs and packs of tourists as i had expected.

The 268 steps leading up to the buddha.

passed by this place on the way to 宝莲寺. it is a freaking prison! a prison with a sea view... think the inmates wun be able to enjoy this view.

There is this place called 心经简林, a bit off the usual tourist spot of the buddha, tat's why it is real quiet there... no 'ah tiongs' shouting around... it is indeed worth a walk down to this place, as it provides some of the most stunning view of lantau...

Next time round shall go hiking...

another place worth a visit on lantau would be 'Tai O' or 大澳. Tai O is a small fishing village by the sea.. This place is indeed a big contrast to the hustle and bustle of kowloon and hong kong.. no car horns... just the sound of the sea breeze and the ringing of bicycle bells. small alleys and mainly 2 storey building... there is indeed a charm to this small village.

the famous Tai O beancurd... a must try if you do visit there... the beancurd is so smooth and the texture is not too hard, and not too soft also.. diff frm sg ones..

the shop we went to.. there were many many such stores, but we didn't know which is the original one. so typical sgporean behaviour, we walk into the one with the most people...

another 2 places tucked away in some corner of hong kong, stanley and repulse bay. stanley is fast being developed into a tourist attraction. what used to be just a beach and a few shophouses is now being joined by a shopping mall. the street market in stanley is now cluttered with brands like watson, delifrance etc... but the beauty of stanley is still there, esp the beach area.. i love beach areas... too bad i didn't stay there long enough to enjoy the sea breeze, as my family claimed it was boring and there is nothing to see...

the murray house. read that this building was demolised and moved over here from central.

shops being developed right before the sea... imagine sitting down at a cafe here, enjoying the breeze and chit chatting with gd frens... how gd would it be...

another beautiful beach. repulse bay. it is machiam like our sentosa palawan beach, where people go and sun tan, play or 'beo' hunks n babes..

shall end off here.. i am lazy to put up the rest of the pics... haha

suffering from severe lack of sleep syndrome again.... came back from hong kong and only reached home at 3am this morning... even cancelled my tuition this morning...

the trip wasn't as fun as i expected. not that hk is boring, but going with my family is a wrong choice... seriously... it's just that the expectation of me and them are so different. sometimes, i got so so so pissed off that i almost flew back immediately. will definitely make a trip down again... perhaps when ngong ping cable car is back in service...

shall blog more next time. i can't even think straight now...

so interesting that jetstar boarding pass is just a piece of receipt... seems like a rather full flight...

ok. shall end off here. will blog when i reach hk.. use hk airport internet.. haha

still feeling a bit blur and groggy after geog soc camp.. after effects of sleeping for abt 10 hrs only for 3 nights. shall blog more abt the camp.

when i first arrived on the first day, there were like so few freshies. only 6 of us in fact. i heard last yr was only 5 and it's like dat for small societies camp. why i wanted to go geog soc camp? to know more ppl who will be majoring in the same subject as me, as well as seniors. and being a small camp has it own perks... the whole camp was like a class chalet, warm and cosy, with all of us being so close together.

first day was like all the admin stuff, sch tour, ice breaker blah blah blah.... but a game at night sort of made some of us look like we are doing an 'ah gua' show.... then 2nd day was spent in sentosa. have not been to sentosa for ages and it has indeed changed a lot...

the highlight was in the 2nd night, where we had fright night. being a small grp means that we can go explore the places in pairs... not before we were being exposed to some ghost movie. i was paired up with this korean gal Yuna. and some 'ghost' did scare the shit out of me at one of the location, some ulu ulu drain. wah kau... here how it goes... actually sasankar, the ghost was hiding behind this black trash bag thing hanging from the roof. i purposely touched the black thing to see if there is something behind and then when i let my guard down, he went 'boo'. wah lau... i screamed out loh, but not those lady style.. think i was louder than Yuna... after the event, i heard from the seniors that i was not the loudest guy.. and talking abt haunted, think we did encounter some 'stuff' at AS7 level 7 toilet... we were in the ladies (due to some miscommunication, i tot that was the place i am supposed to go, not because i am some pian tai hanging around in girls toilet) and we were preparing ourselves to get scared by someone jumping up when we opened the cubicle room. when we realised there was no one in the toilet, we heard some sound from the gents next door. we thought it was the seniors, but when we went over, there was no one there... and alex, one of the seniors also encountered some stuff there... so dun go to the toilet there... it's the USP building anway, so i think i am not gonna be hanging around there much.

3rd day was spent in west coast park and that was the most fun day... we had games between the 2 teams and we were like climbing up and down at the obstacles in WCP. in the end, we won! at night we had bbq and we were playing lots of lame games that were fun! esp the ROCK rock game. i think i have learnt like 10+ new games from the camp itself. headed to fong seng in the wee hours of the morning and it was really fun to be chatting with the seniors, sharing stories(some stories are damm sick!), laughing away the night.. almost ended up not sleeping.

overall, it was really a enjoyable camp... to think a few months back, i was still thinking of how life wld be like in NUS. this camp gave me a taste of uni life.. how fun it could be if i want it.. i definitely wld not want to stay just a mugger. i wanna play hard too.. what's uni without fun n frens? and also, hope we freshies n seniors cld stay in touch, and hopefully, got other freshies in the same class as me so i wld not be bored.

okie... time to end this.. wanna say thanks to the seniors who put in such great effort in making sure the camp runs well. will post some pics when i get them....

i got so pissed off this morning that i went on a superb spending spree. bought a few pairs of shorts cause mum threw all my old ones away.... bought a new backpack also, those for backpacking use. was thinking, since i am gonna buy one sooner or later, i shall get one now. anytime i feel like it, i just pack my bags and off i go... i can really do crazy and out of the world things when i am really really pissed. at least now i am feeling better...,except feeling a little mad from the rather screwed up haircut i had...
not very big rite? seems decent enough for travel... and it is my luggage for the geog soc camp. isit too much?
so after my last work, i wasn't shaking legs as some of my frens have mentioned.. sat went to celebrate ah tee bdae at some jap restaurant in esplanade... people r queueing up for doughnut and we are queueing up for sashimi... but luckily, the food was great.... and the rest of the night was spent fooling around at esplanade, and then getting stuck in the rain.... really fun to be hanging around aimlessly like that... when sch terms start, think we wun have much chance to be like dat liao.. and also, ky leaving for shanghai end aug...

and yest was spent at JB.. all pang seh until left only 4 of us... so we took cab loh... went to mel's place for lunch, then shopping at tebaru. bought dunkin donut back.. haha.. donut craze.. btw, things down there are freaking ex... wanted to try taking bus back, but since it was rather late, we took a cab down to city sq... still got caught in the human traffic jam at the customs.. think most of the msians are returning to sg for work on monday... eventually, we walked across the causeway back to sg. my first time doing that.. it was actually rather fun. observing the line dividing sg n msia.. how the 2 side of the bridge look so different..

ok.. the above is rather crappy.. shall make a decent entry some other time when i am more sober and creative... tmr going for geog soc orientation camp. hope it will not be boring...

last day at work

I am now officially jobless... haha, not counting the tuition lah...

Today is my last day at PIA.. 6 months passed by really quick. To think i am still dreading abt the job one month back. did really learn a lot of stuff. from excel idiot to excel pro (abt 80% ba)... from SAP idiot to SAP newbie (i think only 10% knowledge) ..Yes, at times it can get really boring as what i am doing is just simple admin stuff, but i do think i gonna miss the times there. Like what i told them today, what i miss most would be the people there. I guess, us being a small dept, sort of bonded us closely together. So it was a mixed feeling when leaving there.... too bad today most of the girls are on leave, but at least we did get together during angela's wedding on wednesday.

all of us at the dinner....

3 gentlemen from IMD

must put this pic.. joey's 'duh' look...

my 'shi fu' cheng hoon... she really taught me a lot of stuff..

boss KK presenting me with the gift they bought me. thanks guys!

tmr is boss b'dae as well...

my gift!! thanks a lot guys!! i was looking around for something like this also!!

at least i dun have to wake up early next monday to catch the 7.28am train at cck, direct to lavender... getting squashed up till at least buona vista.... and then repeating the whole process in the evening... being jobless also sent me thinking, what can i do in july??

Sunday, June 10, 2007

my body is aching all now... went to saf yatch club with kc n marcus yest... it was some 40th anniversary celebration n it was sort of a open hse.... took part in some wacky race and then realising we sucked at sailing... and we got the top prize!! (caused we sucked the most) prize? 6 cans of beer + kfc voucher....

went on to try other stuff like banana boat n jet ski... the banana boat almost capsized.. i guess the driver must have seen that we are too damm bored and he tried to do some manuevor to overturn us... but we did not plunge into the sea... the jet ski was so so only... the shiok part came when it was hurling forward at top speed... didn't dare to go try wakeboarding.. later sia suay down there... instead of wakeboarding, i think i wld be crashing into the sea more often... after all these activities, we went off to relax in a jacuzzi... i was thinking, how nice if i can afford such a membership, or best, have a house by the sea and then soaking into the tub while watching the sun set... it's nice to be rich hoh....

stayed on for the evening where they had this dinner... somehow, it turned into a drinking session at the end and we got kc pissed drunk. shall not mention how lang bei he became here... after seeing his state, made me feel quite bad for making him drink so much... i think i was also on the verge of getting high... it was one of the times that i drink that much... really, drinking is bad...

apart from all the drinking and crap (literally), it was indeed a nice place to chill out for a day...

it's the view like this that makes me really like this place.... imagine if my hse has this view... so guys, perhentian ??

my last week at work... basically, got nothing much to do liao... just sit there and nua the day away... maybe boss will need me back in july... shall see how ba... maybe i go back and nua for a few more wks... need $$...

I think my brain is rusting after a 2 yrs haitus from studies. Actually got stuck at a question in Emaths. it's EMATHS!! imagine ur student staring at you during lesson and you are there scratching your head... i spend like a good 5 minutes on that qns, only to realise that it is just a freaking simple one step solution. perhaps i think too much... really, sometimes it is damm malu... and next lesson i gonna be teaching relative velocity, the subject i hate most and sucked most at. wish me luck...

have been surfing around the net for a while on more info abt cambodia. really want to make use of this chance to go overseas for a while. due to all my tuition cloggin up at weekends, it seems like i can only afford like at most 5 days and i guess angkot wat would be possible in the short time. really considering the possibility of going myself, as it is damm hard to get someone i know to go with me, and i wouldn't be comfortable going with strangers (there are some sites that you can look around for travelling partners). bad things abt going myself, costs are high. no one to split accomodation, transport cost. gd thing: able to do what i want and go where i want. i think i shall make a proper decision after i get back frm hk. after all, it's just a few clicks on www.jetstar.com.sg and then it's done. i think i should be more adventurous and take the first step out.

It has been a horrible week for me. Been down with a super bad flu n sore throat since monday. the urge not to go to work seems so appealing. just send a sms to boss to say i am sick. but den, my dept is severely lack of manpower this week, so i shall not be a bastard. i shall go back to work even though i cld die any moment (tat's an exaggeration)... if i also go on mc or leave, angela wld be crying down there.. cannot let the bride to be be more stressed up (she is alreadly stressed up). though i could not handle most of the shit that the user throw to us, i at least do help out a bit. those i can solve i solve on my side. those that are too chim i then pass to her loh.. I only know like 10% of SAP?

2 more weeks before i end this job. there are some parts that i simply miss. some which i do not. I gonna miss some of the people around in the office. some are really nice people to work with. back to studies for 4 more years.... no more bumming around at night or during weekends...

also met up with the 6A gang on sat. sadly only 9 ppl came. so many ppl last min fly plane.. still, it was a nice gathering, with us updating each other on how we are doing. we were saying, it's going to be 10 years soon and we are still meeting. not bad huh... and btw, i haven got the pictures yet!!!

sunday outing was sort of a last minute one. tee n ps wanted to go shopping, then kim also want, so the four of us went orchard together. putting kim & ps together, wah piang eh... havoc. I think if we were to stay longer at burger king, we would be chased out. sometimes, it is such misbehaving and fooling around that really make my day, despite being a nuisance to others. really, we are behaving like some sec sch kids like what tee says...

and i read that miss usa fell down during the pagent and i found this clip.

really ouch! falling straight on the butt. but she still did well with a 8.7 score. so like what people always say, it doesn't matter how you fall, it's how you get up.

another classic fall video.. this really sent me laughing hard everytime i watch it.

i am so evil, laughing at others falling down... what if i am the one falling... i remember this malu incident. was at boon lay interchange, then i tripped over this rope and fell.. just quickly stand up and walk away as if nothing happened...

and damm. i haven watch pirates 3. who want to go watch with me?
